Working Our Faith (Activating)

Faith without works is dead. We must activate our faith by believing it in our heart and speaking it out our mouth. Often we think we are in faith, and we may well be, but our faith needs to be activated for the power of it to work

Activating your faith.

Mark 11 : 22             “Have faith in God or have the faith of God”

Jer 17 : 5_8                Thus says the Lord:

“Cursed is the man who trusts in man

And makes flesh his strength,

Whose heart departs from the Lord.

6For he shall be like a shrub in the desert,

And shall not see when good comes,

But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,

In a salt land which is not inhabited.

7“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,

And whose hope is the Lord.

8For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,

Which spreads out its roots by the river,

And will not fear when heat comes;

But its leaf will be green,

And will not be anxious in the year of drought,

Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

V 5 _ 6.            This man has allowed his heart to depart from the Lord, he’s trusting in man, man’s ways, man’s systems, the result of this is he’s in a lot of trouble.  Nothing is going well for him.

He is a man who probably still goes thru all the motions and outward appearances of doing the right actions yet his heart has departed from the Lord.  He no longer has the passion, hunger and thirst for God that once flowed throughout every fiber of his being.  “A form of godliness”  Trying to fit God into his lifestyle.  He knows the Word of God, can talk about the Word but when it comes down to it, his actions don’t line up with it.

V 7 _ 8.            This person is not going to be swayed by the events of life.  His faith (trust) in God is not just in words but in actions too.  He is not just a hearer but a doer as well.  James 1 :22.      But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Deception will come when we are not releasing our faith in God’s Word.

James 1 : 26              “Faith without works is dead.”

There is only one thing that will stop the enemies onslaughts against us.  Jesus revealed that to us in His wilderness experience.

Matt 4 : 1_11 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”4But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”5Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’

and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” 7Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”8Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”10Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”11Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

Jesus spoke the Word and released His faith in that Word to accomplish the task. There is enough power in every Word of God to bring it to pass.   The fig tree withered and died, why, Jesus spoke what His Father told Him to speak and that was it.

MSG:-  1st test – Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy

2nd test – Jesus countered with another citation from Deuteronomy.

3rd test – Jesus backed His rebuke with a 3rd quotation from Deut

It’s not waiting until something comes along to take you out, it’s building yourself now.  It’s receiving and speaking what God has said now so that if something happens in the future you are prepared.  I was not able to stop in midair and confess for God’s safety.  Bentry could not ask these thieves, just hold on a minute while I pray.  It’s not waiting until your finances are so overwhelming that you start to believe God, no it’s now.  Stop spending more than you earn and start to operate with faith in God.  Not when the banking system falls over and it will.  This is not to put fear in you, it’s to warn you.  Traffic signs.

Start today with, No weapon formed against you will prosper, God has given His angels charge over me.  Jesus gave me His peace, His nothing missing nothing broken.

It doesn’t matter what others are doing or saying or what they are not doing.  It only matters what you are doing.  I pray for you and stand in faith for you regularly but you also have to stand up with faith in God’s Word.

Romans 10 : 6 _ 10  But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

The Word in your mouth and in your heart, the Word of faith.  To activate your faith His Word must be both in your heart by meditation and in your mouth by choice.

The faith of God.

He spoke what was in His heart.  The Holy Spirit brought it to pass.                  Jesus spoke what was in His heart and the devil left Him.

You speak what is in your heart and create your world.

2 spies spoke what was in their heart and went into the promised land.  10 spoke what was in their heart, the multitude joined them and they all died in the wilderness.  It doesn’t matter what the crowd are saying it matters what you are saying.

And now I exhort you to be of good cheer.

Acts 27:22

What do you do when you're in a really perilous situation?

If you're like I used to be, you cry out to God in desperation. One afternoon when I was squalling to God about something, He interrupted me and said, "Kenneth, did you know I don't hear the cry of My children when they cry out in desperation?"

"What?" I said. "I thought you did."

He said, "No, I hear the desperation cry of a sinner because that's all he can cry about. But once you get born again, son, you ought to be crying out of faith. I hear the faith cry."

What is a faith cry? It's calling things that be not as though they were (Rom. 4:17). It's what the Bible means when it says, "Let the weak say, I am strong" (Joel 3:10).
